Oakland headlines Postseason field after “worst to first” regular season

Oakland headlines a 2015 PGBL Postseason after a remarkable regular season in which an active off-season saw the Athletes more than double their win total from the 2014 regular season (116 wins in 2015 compared to 55 in 2014).

The Athletes dominated the South League’s Cactus division, and is the only team from the division in the Postseason. Oakland is joined by St. Louis, winners of the Confederate Division, Dublin and Compton from the South League. St. Louis and Dublin meet in the Division Series, and Oakland squares off with Compton.

In the North League, Ottawa ran away with the Maple Leaf Division to set up a Division Series match-up against Norris Division Runner-Up, Pittsburgh. The Argonauts are returning to the Postseason for the first time since 2010. In the other North League Division Series, Norris Division Champions, Chicago will face Calgary.

Dublin is making its first Postseason appearance since 2008, when the franchise won the World Series as the Key West Penguin. St. Louis and Compton both appeared in the Postseason in 2014.

The Postseason will be played in its entirety on Saturday. Games will be streamed live from Mikogo.com.
